Course Description |

The Conversational English Course (The Course)
is a 30-hour, self-contained tutorial designed to remediate and improve speaking skills
in English. The Course is in 4 parts: Grammar Remedial, Vocabulary Development,
Communicative Language and Phonetics.

Grammar Remedial: English Tense System, Modals and
Semi-Modals, Passives, Questions, Verb Complementation, Reporting,
Articles/Determiners/Quantifiers/Intensifiers, Clauses and
Conjunctions/Connectives/;

Vocabulary Development: Laboratory work using the 10-unit Verbal
Advantage Package, the 20-unit English Collocations in Use and
30-unit English Phrasal Verbs in Use;

Communicative Language:30 units of Conversational Topics in Business;
15 units of Communicative Language Exercises using Authentic Materials;

|
Phonetics: 6 Laboratory hours of Phonetic Exercises in the Major
